Saber Tec

Release of the SaberTec Configurator

We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of the SaberTec Configurator after finishing the extensive public beta testing!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the public beta testing and helped to shape this amazing tool. Your enthusiasm and insights have been the driving force behind this project.

Let’s have a short look at the most important features:

– Unleash your creativity by designing your own blade styles and share them with the community by uploading them to the online effect library. Our game-changing animation allows you to preview any changes that you make in real-time.

– Browse through the online effect library to discover the blade styles that have been shared by our community. Download any blade style that catches your eye!

– Link blade styles with sound fonts.

– Tweak any parameters easily, with changes saved directly to the SD card. No manual editing of config files required any more!

– Check for firmware updates and install them with ease. Refresh your SD card’s performance or restore it to factory settings, i.e. to the default sound font package.

Ready to upgrade your saber experience? Dive into the SaberTec Configurator now and let the fun begin!

First major firmware update for the Golden Harvest v2

As mentioned in the official release announcement, one of the key features of our Golden Harvest board is that there will be regular firmware updates in future that will install automatically once an update file is saved on the microSD card. Here comes the first update!

Update file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gyoiq4q1dmrhx5t/update.dat?dl=0

Installation:
Just delete the file “UPDATE_D.DAT” from your microSD card (if this file exists). Then, put the update file “update.dat” on your microSD card and insert it into your board again (no renaming needed). After the next boot, it will install the update automatically. Once the boot sound appears, your board is updated.

Changelog:
– Due to strong customer demand, we added a Hibernation Mode (Deep Sleep). By default, your board will go into this power saving mode if you didn’t use it for 5 minutes. This value is also customizable of course (see below). To wake your board up again, just press the power button and wait for the boot sound. For a 3400 mAh battery, the board can stay more than 8 months in Hibernation Mode.
– Also many customers asked if it was possible to support pre-mixed sound fonts from saberfont.com without additional renaming of the files:
http://www.saberfont.com/Optimized-for-Plecter-by-Era_c_53.html
After this update we’re still using our own naming system, but to fulfill this wish of our customers, our board recognizes now also the common naming system from saberfont.com. It detects automatically which naming system is used.

Optional:
How to customize the time after which the board goes into Hibernation Mode?
To do that, you have to download our latest default effect font package:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/glxi5cxo17pq8ws/GH.zip?dl=0
Just unzip the files, put them all on your microSD card by replacing the existen tfiles and choose your hardware setup. We introduced a new parameter “deep_sleep” contained in the “effect[number].txt” files. Just set it to the value you want (from 1 to 1000). The time is given in seconds.

What shall be the name of our new soundboard?

Inspired by the working title “Blue Harvest” of “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope”, we gave our soundboard the codename “Golden Harvest”. As one of our main goals in designing our soundboard is to give you the possibility to participate in its development, we ask you to decide what the future name of our soundboard will be. For this purpose, we started the following poll in which you can vote for your favorite name or even suggest an own name. So, just unleash your creativity and show us your suggestions!
